Chris Torres V2

Chris Torres

Three years ago, I made the trip out to Las Vegas to photograph Chris Torres' EK hatch. Fast forward to today, and I found myself making that drive once again but this time for an entirely new chapter. Chris has raised the bar with a fresh build that perfectly reflects his vision: clean, intentional, and executed with an incredible level of detail.

This new right-hand-drive EK3 is one he personally imported himself, making the build even more meaningful. Photos can only capture so much. Seeing this car in person is a completely different experience. Every angle, every panel gap, and every detail has been carefully thought out. It's a build that's simple on the outside but speaks volumes once you start looking closer. And the engine bay? That's where this car truly separates itself. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are second to none.

We tried to stretch the shoot as long as we could to capture every little detail from every angle. But the Las Vegas heat had other plans. We were out there in the middle of the day shooting in 103-degree weather, and I'll be honest I feel like I missed a few shots I really wanted because we were constantly looking for an excuse to jump back into the A/C for a few minutes before heading back out. It was brutally hot, but we kept pushing through to make the most of it.

Even with the heat working against us, I'm really proud of the final set. Sometimes the conditions become part of the story, and this shoot was definitely one of those days. Huge thanks to Chris for trusting me again to capture another chapter of his journey. I can't wait for everyone to see the full feature.
